The Fork Union Military Academy Swimming and Diving Team posted a team GPA of 3.72 this year, thereby earning the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association's Scholar Team Award. The NISCA Scholar Team Award recognizes teams achieving high academic standards. The award is based on the average cumulative GPA of an entire varsity team of 12 or more athletes.

The three levels of recognition are:

  • Bronze Level 3.200 - 3.499
  • Silver Level 3.500 - 3.749
  • Gold Level 3.750 - 4.000

The Varsity Swimming and Diving team had the following swimmers:

Jake Abrahams, Nathanael Bennett, Benjamin Bobadilla, Gonzalo Bobadilla, William Ebright, Dalton Fowler, Jack Greenspon, Mohamed Hassanin, Ahmed Khalil, Samer Khalil, David Pitts, Spencer Tate, Timmy Warren, and Mazen Youssef.

Swimming and Diving Head Coach Ryan Campbell was excited by the team's academic achievement, saying "This is a truly special achievement for them. They put in long days with 8 to 9 practices a week in the water and for them to be able to not only perform at a high level in the pool, which is showcased by their 4th place finish at the VISAA Swimming and Diving Championships, but also academically, is truly impressive and is a testament to their hard work. It is also something that I believe is fostered by the environment at Fork Union, which emphasizes not just character, leadership, and athletics, but also performing at a high level in the classroom."
