Every Friday the Fork Union Military Faculty and Staff meet to nominate a few who have exceeded the standards and demonstrated superlative performance. Whilst we have various awards and recognitions - a simple "Well Done!" we hope, is also appreciated. The combination of the Bravo and Zulu nautical signal flags, i.e., Bravo Zulu, also referred to as "BZ," is a naval signal, typically conveyed by flag hoist or voice radio, meaning "Well Done" with regard to actions, operations or performance.
The following are the Bravo Zulu awards for this week:
Cadet Private Riley Ambrose is a first-year cadet in Alpha Company. He is a boarding student from Baltimore, Maryland. Cadet Ambrose had a very good week this week with zero demerits and a perfect room for the Commandant’s room inspection. He has also been working hard in the classroom this year and currently has high marks in Advanced Algebra/Trig. Cadet Ambrose is a member of the prep football team and off-season strength and conditioning. He has committed to playing football here at Fork Union on the postgraduate squad next fall. Bravo Zulu, Cadet Riley Ambrose!
Cadet Private Christian Beale is a first-year cadet in Bravo Company. He is a boarding student from Manassas, Virginia. He has taken initiative to assist his company, specifically, with assisting Bravo Company’s First Sergeant with accountability reports and temperature checks in the mornings. Cadet Beale’s influence within his company has been noticed. He has stepped up countless times in the absence of the company’s First Sergeant. His perseverance, dedication, and initiative have positively impacted cadets within Bravo Company. He is also a member of the track and field program. Bravo Zulu, Cadet Christian Beale!
Cadet Private First Class Andrew Butler is a first-year cadet in Charlie Company. He is a day student from Columbia, Virginia. Cadet Butler has been a model cadet since the beginning of the academic year. This week, he has been assigned to give a class presentation in Music Exploration. His 10-minute presentation was nothing less than exceptional. It was evident that he planned, prepared, and executed his presentation, which was the best presentation CPT Signor has seen in his time teaching. Butler’s delivery and interaction with his audience was extraordinary. His grades in his classes are nothing but superb. Butler is a member of the middle school basketball team and JUDO team. Bravo Zulu, Cadet Andrew Butler!
Mrs. Tori Beaulieu and the Class of 2021. Throughout the entire year, Mrs. Beaulieu and the Class of 2021 have worked tirelessly on their post-FUMA plans. This week, they have achieved a 100-percent college acceptance rate and surpassed $4.4 million in total scholarships awarded. The Class of 2021 is commended for their hard work and dedication, while Mrs. Beaulieu is recognized for her leadership role in facilitating these successes. Bravo Zulu, Mrs. Beaulieu and the Class of 2021!
The Department of Maintenance, led by Warren Whitworth and his staff: John Hurley, Alex Grant, Steve Plum and Jesse Gormon, have been working hard planning the clean-up and assembly of end-of-the-year projects around campus. The entire Maintenance staff works tirelessly throughout the last two months planning for graduation, award ceremonies and cookouts to provide a beautiful and functional landscape for our graduating class. Bravo Zulu, Maintenance!
Go FUMA!
